On August 5, 2023, 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit, Inc. is hosting a family fun and health
fair, Man Up for Better Health, including fitness-focused activities, health
screenings, nutrition education, and more in Midtown Detroit. Partnering with various
regional health service and education providers, the Man Up for Better Health event will
provide accessible, convenient options to reinforce and improve healthy lifestyles. Blue
Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is this year’s signature health sponsor.
Screenings to be offered at the health fair include:
• Stroke risk assessment
• Blood pressure, glucose, prostate-specific antigen (PSA)
• Lung cancer screening
• HIV screening
• Hypertension
• Dental care
• COVID-19 testing and immunizations
