Selby Artis is employed with Nephron Pharmaceutical Corporation, a privately owned global leader in the manufacturing of generic drug products, over-the-counter (OTC) drug products and medical devices. Mr. Artis manages all aspects of the production and quality control processes.
Prior to joining Nephron, Mr. Artis worked for the United States Department of Agriculture in Miami, FL. He served as the Contracting Officer for the Subtropical Horticulture Research Station and possesses a warrant level of $6.5 million. He provides oversight and guidance on all matters pertaining to procurement operations, to include, minor construction projects.
Prior to serving as the contracting officer for USDA, Mr. Artis worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for the Miami VA Medical Center in the areas of logistics and supply chain management in both West Virginia and most recently, Palm Beach Florida.
In 1989, upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Mr. Artis founded the Artis Moving Delivery Company in Charlotte, NC. This successful enterprise coordinated fleets in multiple service lines including local and interstate residential moving, commercial delivery and bulk mail delivery for the U.S. Postal Service. In 2005, Mr. Artis divested himself of the company and relocated to Beckley, West Virginia.
A native of Wilson, NC, Selby Artis attended Fayetteville State University, and Mountain State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership. He is a member of several community and service organizations including Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity –Alpha Upsilon Boule’ and the 5000 Road Models of Excellence. Mr. Artis is married to Dr. Roslyn Artis (current President of Benedict College).
