Regina A. Petty
Regina A. Petty is the Chief Diversity Officer and a partner in the San Diego and Los Angeles offices of Fisher & Phillips LLP, a national labor and employment law firm. Ms. Petty’s practice combines counseling employers, workplace investigations, and defense of employment and business litigation. She practices in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate court levels across the country. She is experienced in multi-district, class action, and mass-tort litigation.
Ms. Petty’s trial and appellate experience
Ms. Petty authored the article “The EEOC’s Recent Agenda on Work-Faith Conflicts” published by Bloomberg Law Reports – Labor & Employment Vol. 4, No. 31 (2010). She is the co-author of the book chapter “Workplace Violence – From an Employer’s Perspective” in Stalkers, Stalking and Their Victims: Prevention, Intervention, Case Management, Investigation and Threat Assessment (CRC Press 2001). Ms. Petty is a frequent speaker on legal issues and diversity topics for national and local programs.
Ms. Petty is a past member of the board of directors of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. She was the 2008-2010 chair of the International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) CLE Committee and is a former member of the board of the IADC Foundation. She was a Master in the Louis Welsh American Inn of Court and a past faculty member for the American Bar Association (ABA) TIPS Trial Academy and for the IADC Trial Academy. Ms. Petty graduated from Stanford Law School in 1982. She received her undergraduate degree in economics at Stanford University in 1979 and served on the ASSU Council of Presidents. She received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from California Western School of Law in 1995.
