John S. Kendall

Born on Chicago’s Westside he graduated from the University of Dayton, BEE (1985) and The Ohio State University School of Law, J.D. (1990). He was admitted to practice in Ohio (1990), Illinois (1991); and U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (1993). He clerked for nationally renowned Sughrue, Mion, et al. drafting patent amendments and providing trademark litigation support.

In undergrad, co-oped at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. Worked at Northrop Defense Systems Division as a communication- systems engineer with Special Access Required security clearance. Tested U.S. Air Force F-15 and F-16 Aircraft Fighters electronic countermeasures systems.

Currently four term Chairman of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago’s Civil Service Board, serving with two attorneys as an administrative judge.

Awards include: Made Man Community Leader Award (April 2017); 100 Black Men of ChicagoJohn S. Kendall Chairman’s Award (2012), Real Men Cook Community Service Award (2011),Chicago Defender’s Men of Excellence (2009), Allstate Insurance Company “From Whence We Came” (2007) for community service; “Men of Excellence Award” (2005); and Cook County Bar Association’s “J. Earnest Wilkins Award” (2004).

Memberships: Founder, 100BMC; 33rd Degree Mason; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; Chicago Guardsmen; and Univ. of Dayton School of Engineering Advisory Council.

Clientele include: Chicago Homemade Chicken & Waffles, DAT Donuts, Uncle Remus Chicken, National Association of Black Accountants; Chicago State University; Rainbow Push, National Black MBA Association, NOBLE, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Fraternities Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Psi Phi and Phi Beta Sigma.
