Your true friends are the ones that are with you in the trenches, consistently doing the hard work required to change young people's lives positively and to create the leaders of tomorrow.

With that in mind, 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C., would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Nissan Group of the Americas. The DC chapter, along with six other affiliate chapters of 100 Black Men of America, Inc., was invited to Nashville, Tennessee, February 15 17, 2023, to participate in Nissan Readya oneofakind experience for a select group of young men from across the country to be educated, inspired, and supported in their drive to succeed. The overarching themes of the event were foundational in that they reinforced the tenets of hard work, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence, and Nissan showcased how these tenets come to life in their opportunities, teams, and products.

Over an actionpacked 3day conference, our young men attended thoughtprovoking panels, heard empowering and motivational advice from Nissan executives, toured the Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, and visited the National Museum of African American Music. The final event of Nissan Ready was a tour of the Nissan Smyrna Assembly Plant. The students had the opportunity to speak with a panel of Nissan engineers about their careers, educational backgrounds, and opportunities at Nissan. One of the most exciting elements of the plant tour was seeing new products, like the redesigned Nissan Z, and the mentees were excited. As we departed Nashville, all energized and truly inspired, we were happy to have good friends like Nissan to provide our young men with these incredible opportunities.
