Chairman, Milton H. Jones, Jr., Issues a Powerful Charge to Its Member Network

My charge to you is first to E.L.E.V.A.T.E. and then replicate.

The word ELEVATE has a special meaning for us in the 100. There’s a community-based call to action for every letter. But after we ELEVATE, I want to see us come together to replicate our successes.

My charge means we leave no chapter behind as we work TOGETHER. Our focus is to effectively lead in our communities and mentor our young people. We can only do that in a teamwork fashion. We must be successful in the quest to make our youth and communities stronger. They are counting on us.

For that reason, I’m urging us to find more opportunities for our younger members to be a part of what we do and for our older members to reignite themselves. Share your skills and life experiences. We must do all we can to uplift this movement and extend it. It is up to us to carry our ancestor’s legacies. We must move ourselves ever higher every day. As I said in my inaugural speech, don’t limit yourself by reaching for the sky. Let’s put our footprints on the moon!

My charge to you is doable – because we are a brotherhood who will complete it -TOGETHER.

  • EMPOWER ourselves – and our chapters.
  • LEAD at your companies, places of work and in your communities, educate young people as mentors and with your life.
  • EDUCATE young people as mentors and with your life experiences.
  • VOTE because it is a power in and of itself.
  • ADVOCATE because we know what justice and equity looks like.
  • TRAIN because the skills needed in technology and other tools of the 21st century will continue to evolve.
  • ENGAGE with each other, like-minded organizations, legislators, and those you know who support our movement.
